I am coming on here to write this while actively living here because I am so confused and frustrated on what else we can do at this point. There is a major mold issue in our ceiling. We have had it checked out and verified its mold because our apartment complex’s maintenance man is rude and demeaning and was trying to convince us it was not mold so that they don’t have to deal with it. Currently they are supposed to be in our crawlspace checking it out but instead there are three of the maintenance workers in the trash area loudly talking and using foul language at their workplace. If you want to live somewhere that is safe and will keep you healthy DON’T move here. There is also a huge issue with homeless people on the property and property management does nothing to address this. If you’re looking for a grimy, moldy, overpriced apartment this is the place for you.
I've been at brackett for 1 year and will be moving soon. The quality of apartments and amenities are fairly nice, along with fast maintenance and mostly helpful staff.
However, my largest complaint is the constant changes prices. I would of loved to sign a new lease, but I've seen prices change a few hundred dollars in the span of 4-6 weeks with little to no noticeable changes on the property. I remember asking this when I first moved in, but was given an adequate answer that still doesn't make much sense to me now...
It's not a bad place, but check for price changes every 3-4 days if you wanna consider living here. Some apartments in seattle are cheaper than this, kinda insane.
Further Update: I am compelled to share the latest concerning the ongoing security issues at Brackett Apartments. After receiving a closure notice for my case from the Edmonds Police Department, I learned that the lack of cooperation from the apartment management played a pivotal role in this outcome. Despite having a suspect in mind, the management refused to share crucial information with the police, citing discrimination concerns, which led to a dead end in the investigation.
I had a meeting with the senior property manager, Jennifer Semenov, hoping for some resolution. However, it only deepened my frustration. I was stunned to learn of Avenue5 Residential's stance of non-intervention in crimes occurring on their property, a policy that implicitly allows unlawful activities like break-ins and thefts to go unchecked. This directly goes against the impression of safety and security that one might expect from a business that has video monitoring on the premise.
When I proposed a modest request for a rent adjustment equivalent to the value of my stolen package, it was met not with empathy but with disdain. This reaction is emblematic of a broader disregard for resident welfare and a failure to acknowledge the communal responsibility that comes with property management.
Adding to the complexity, I was informed that the suspected thief, previously a tenant, has been evicted. This eviction, paradoxically, reduces the chances of recovering my stolen items and raises questions about the management's earlier claims of ignorance regarding the suspect's identity. The sudden willingness to reveal the suspect’s name post-eviction contradicts their earlier stance and actions, including threats of firing and evicting employees who might assist in the matter.
This entire experience reflects a deeply concerning approach to community management, where resident safety and peace of mind are secondary to other priorities. The lack of empathy, ethical responsibility, and transparency from the management is alarming.
I urge potential and current residents to be aware of these issues and join me in demanding a fair and just resolution. It's crucial that we advocate for a living environment where safety, respect, and integrity are upheld by those in charge.
Update: I sent an email asking the front office questions regarding my move-out procedures on 12/21 and I have followed up now three times asking for a response and I haven’t received one. I heard from one of my neighbors a few very alarming move-out procedures I needed to be confirmed via email. When I say they don’t care, they seriously don’t care. I heard from a neighbor the property manager, Jason, is blaming the owners of the property as to why he cannot do his job well. He takes no responsibility whatsoever for day to day operations.
Holy moly, these people HATE their job. The maintenance is great, but people running it and in the office are insufferable. They recently changed staff yet again but they really don’t care for residents. Don’t move here. It’s too expensive for what you get. Half the time it smells like sewage outside too. Parking is a pain. Delivery guys never deliver to the correct unit. Just go anywhere else but here.
As of this post, there is a resident package thief who has victimized the Brackett Apartments. What's even more concerning is that the management office possesses video evidence of the incident, yet they have chosen not to cooperate with local law enforcement in ensuring a safe and secure community. The Edmonds police where very quick to act but were stonewalled from being able to finalize the investigation because of the community management.
It's incredibly disheartening to think that this community seems to prioritize collecting rent payments over the safety and peace of mind of its residents. I expected better from a place I call home.
The disregard and disrespect shown by the leasing management towards our concerns are truly upsetting. Safety should be paramount in any community, and it's disappointing that it doesn't seem to be a priority here.
I urge potential residents to think twice before moving into this community. Your safety and peace of mind should never be compromised for the sake of convenience or profit. I hope that management reconsiders their approach to security and takes action to address the issues plaguing this community.

I lived in this apartment complex back in the early 90's. This apartment complex used to be called "Firdale Village". It was a great place to live for a 5-person family. The location is safe, and there are good schools everywhere for …
I give Brackett and its team and ZERO. Sophie gets a huge zero. Rick gets a Zero. The Regional Property Manager gets a zero for lying to my face about helping me replace moldy carpets. …
The experience staying at Brackett was okay, but the move-out process was a total rip-off ($700 total in my case). Avoid at all costs! …
